    Spring....maybe in a coupla weeks?

    in Island & Mud Lake

The ice is out on both lakes but the temps are hovering around 40ish degrees with no end in sight. At least this year we will be able to fish on opener next week in a boat and not on a sled...haha. You'll have to wear long undies and carry hand warmers, though. The website has been updated with the latest DNR info: https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/index.html and remember, we can possess 10 northerns! The pass-thru birds have been busy raiding feeders for their trek north. In addition to the usual suspects, we saw a cowbird, a redwing blackbird, several white throated sparrows and some kind of warblers. The squirrels have been especially persistent...I found out they like dried meal worms...who knew?

Anyway, all is calm and peaceful if just a little cold here in our corner of paradise. Reminder...send me any pictures you take of our lake area...I'd like to update/refresh the website with new pictures!
