Who are we?
Located in northeastern Crow Wing County, Minnesota, the Island Mud Lake Property Owners Association or IMLPOA was established in 1979 to provide property owners around Island and Mud Lakes a means to get to know others in the area, to address common concerns and to provide a forum for discussion of issues concerning the lakes.
Here’s a quick reminder of just a few things your IMLPOA membership helps sustain:
-
Community Events — The annual picnic, fishing contest, ice cream social, boat parade, and more — always free and always a good time.
-
Free Pontoon Trailer Use — Convenient and helps reduce the spread of AIS.
-
News & Updates — Seasonal newsletters, website posts, and timely info so you’re always in the loop.
-
Custom Lake Sign — A complimentary engraved sign with your name, proudly displayed at your lake’s entrance.
-
Lake Care & Stewardship — Your support helps fuel channel cleanup, erosion control information, and water-quality monitoring with partners like MPCA and the DNR.
-
Annual Photo Calendar — A beautiful calendar featuring lake photos and community event dates.
The Board appreciates input from all residents regarding our lake area issues (email form below). To help keep the community connected and informed there is an annual meeting and picnic.
Click HERE for current and past IMLPOA annual minutes and newsletters. Also check out the bulletin board at the intersection of Island Lake and Walworth Road for lakes community information.
Tell your new neighbors about IMLPOA and please send a note to the Board so that we can welcome them to the lake!

Do You Need a Sign?
If you need a sign contact Chuck Pettipiece at 507-327-8627
or email him at islandmudlake@gmail.com. It's no cost to members or $40 for nonmembers.
If you are aware of any new neighbors please send a note to the Board so that we can welcome them to the lake!

Pontoon trailer anyone?
To prevent the spread of invasive species, the Association provides a pontoon trailer for members to use EXCLUSIVELY on Island and/or Mud Lake.
You can find the trailer in the lot across the road from the Banks' yard.
Click HERE for the trailer guidelines. Please contact Mark Caspers at 763-258-3842 for questions or to reserve it.
Look for a new reservation system starting late Summer/early Fall!

Join us!
Ask a neighbor or attend the annual meeting for more information about the Association. It is a bargain at $40/year to voice YOUR opinions regarding our lakes.
You can also click here to download a member form or here to pay dues.

Got pictures?
We would like to feature candid photos of life around the lakes. Please share your favorite lakes pictures for website consideration. Email them to: imlpoawebmaster@gmail.com.
Take a Book Share a Book
Island Mud Lakes’ Neighborhood Library is officially open for the Summer. You’ll find it at the intersection of Island Lake Road and Walworth Road, just after "the split".
Residents are encouraged to share gently used books and games. Children’s books are always a big hit.
Please place all donations on the top shelf, left side. Our volunteer librarian, Tricia Murray, will label new additions with IMLPOA stickers to keep the collection organized. Please email questions to:
islandmudlakeslibrary@gmail.com.
While you’re there, don’t forget to grab a book to enjoy back at the cabin.
Happy reading!
