Membership Dues/Budget Explanation & Survey
We have worked to keep IMLPOA membership fees affordable to encourage strong participation while ensuring they cover operational costs and maintain a reserve for unexpected needs. Our $20 annual dues were last updated in September 2000. Thanks to annual anonymous donations, we have been able to keep dues unchanged.
Over the past two years, our annual total revenue has averaged $3,777 (including one-time donations averaging $1,680). During the same period, operating expenses have averaged $2,985. Without generous donations from several members, our expenditure exceeds our dues revenue. Over the same two-year period, our fund balance has decreased by $740. At the 2024 annual meeting, it was proposed that we survey members to assess the impact on membership. If there is a consensus to raise dues to better support our budget, it is important to determine what level of increase would be acceptable and/or if members would support special fundraising initiatives or designated donation accounts to address critical needs.
